UPI users alert! Banks & UPI apps to implement new mobile number verification rules from April 1, 2025

NPCI issues new guidelines requiring banks and UPI apps to update mobile number records weekly to avoid errors from recycled numbers. From April 1, 2025, explicit user consent will be mandatory for assigning numeric UPI IDs, enhancing transaction accuracy and user security.
