NRI to get back seized gold chain from Indian customs at Delhi airport after winning case in Delhi High Court

A Non-Resident Indian (NRI) travelling from United Arab Emirates to India was intercepted by Indian customs officials at the Delhi airport & his gold chain was seized. Reena Asthana Khair says: "The recent High Court ruling offers much-needed clarity on the interpretation of the Baggage Rules. It rightly affirms that used personal effects including jewelry worn by passengers are eligible for duty-free clearance, even if they exceed the 20-gram limit applicable otherwise."
