New tatkal ticket booking rules: Aadhaar OTP must from July 2025, agents can't book tatkal in first half hour in AC, non-AC coaches and more

Indian Railways is implementing significant changes to the Tatkal ticket booking system to enhance transparency and fairness. Starting July 2025, Aadhaar authentication becomes mandatory for online bookings, along with OTP verification at reservation counters and for agents. To prevent misuse, authorized agents face booking restrictions during the initial 30 minutes of Tatkal booking windows for both AC and non-AC classes.
